One of the easiest ways to add some texture and interest to a basic black dress is to add pattern tights. Most of the best looks have an open work pattern that allows your eyes through the skin to show the texture (which work much like fishing nets, but in different models).
Here’s how to make it work :
• Choose small repeating patterns to the most subtle. In my picture, right, I chose a vertical strip of open Spanx work to lengthen legs.
• Pair of simple patterned tights with dresses or tunics: a knee length dress in basic black sweater, knitted sweater or crepe works beautifully with patterned tights.
• Almost all the great works of shoes with patterned stockings, even open-toed shoes.
• Waiting tone on tone (half-black with a black dress) are the easiest and most flattering to wear this.
